MIR Parents and Kaladi Brothers Coffee

 

MIR Parents and Kaladi Brothers Coffee invite you to share their coffee this holiday season and support our schools!

The money raised will help fund local field trips and transportation, classroom supplies, technology, after-school activites, Russian cultural activities, and school-wide events and celebrations at school.  From November 16- December 5, we encourage all Turnagain, Romig & West Russian Immersion students to sell Kaladi Brothers Coffee to their family and friends.

 

There are 4 choices available for pre-order.  Each 1 lb. bag cost $15. All are whole bean.

The choices are HOLIDAY ROAST, RED GOAT, TRIESTE, AND TRIESTE DECAF.

The orders will be roasted fresh in Anchorage the week of 12/5.

The orders will be delivered to Turnagain Elementary and ready for student pickup by Wed. 12/16.

*All orders must have payment attached.  Without payment, no coffee.  :-)*

Checks can be made payable to MIR Parents.

Drop your order forms and payments (inside an envelope or stapled together) into the MIR Parents Lockbox (on the wall near the Turnagain office)

to be received no later than Monday, December 5th.

Anchorage United Nations Day 5K/2K - Oct. 22nd

MIR Parents invites you to participate in the Anchorage United Nations Day 5k/2k on October 22, 2016, 10am at Westchester Lagoon (near the boat launch). 

We are inviting all of the ASD language immersion programs (German, Japanese, Spanish Anchorage, Spanish, Eagle River and the Chinese FLES) to participate and see which program can field the largest team.  We have a special trophy, the United Nations Cup, for the language program that fields the largest team. The pubic is welcome to sign up to be part of one of the language teams to help celebrate the diversity of language instruction in the Anchorage School District.

All finishers in the 5k distance will receive a custom Anchorage United Nations Day 5K/2K Hoo Rag at the finish line. Russian Olympiada and Cultural Day March 4, 2016

Secondary students experience and share their knowledge of Russian spoken language and culture while participating in Olympiada. The Olympiada competition is the oldest of all the American Councils’ secondary school activities, dating to the 1960s. Drawing on the long-established practice of oral exams and competitions within the Russian educational system.

This year older elementary students grades 3 and up will also participate if their families choose to from 9:30AM-1:30PM.

We are in need of judges and parent volunteers for the Olympiada and Russian Language and Culture Day on the 4th of March at the ASD Ed Center.
