Russian Olympiada and Cultural Day March 4, 2016

Secondary students experience and share their knowledge of Russian spoken language and culture while participating in Olympiada. The Olympiada competition is the oldest of all the American Councils’ secondary school activities, dating to the 1960s. Drawing on the long-established practice of oral exams and competitions within the Russian educational system.

This year older elementary students grades 3 and up will also participate if their families choose to from 9:30AM-1:30PM.

The Clothesline Consignment - Fundraiser

MIR Parents now has a consignment account at The Clothesline Consignment located at 1441 W. Northern Lights Blvd., Suite C, in Anchorage (across the street from The Alaska Club).  Anyone can drop off quality womens clothing, shoes, and accessories for consignment sale.  If you'd like, you can inform the salesperson that you'd like the proceeds to be donated to MIR Parents.  The store will mail the proceed check directly to MIR Parents after the item(s) sell.  Here's how it works:  The store sets the price.  They keep 1/2 and MIR would get 1/2 (same as with any account there) of the final sale.  The items are displayed for 90 days.  If they don't sell, the items will be donated.  They do not consign bridal wear, furs, undergarments, or housewares.  They accept sizes 0-3X.  Spread the word!
